We’re taking a look at a bunch ofOuter Worlds Buildsfor your brand new character! The game is very early in the release process, so a lot of these builds are experimental at the moment. We will be adding additional builds as popular options become available. While creating your own character from scratch can be fun, we also understand that some people would prefer to just work off of a guide. We’re hoping to provide that option to you!

The Outer Worlds Builds List

Keep in mind that the game will just have been released, so these are mostly theoretical ideas to help give you some direction. We will be updating this guide with more refined builds as soon as we can!

Lone Wolf Stealth/Sniper Build

One of the more popular builds when it comes to Fallout or Elder Scrolls games is the stealthy long-ranged character. This character usually allows you to lurk around in the shadows and pick off unsuspecting enemies while they are minding their own business. You can also avoid situations where you are out-gunned, and maybe steal things you wouldn’t normally be able to get until later in the game. This build in particular is going to go Lone Wolf, which means you won’t want to have a companion with you to get the maximum amount of damage out of it.

Skills

Perks

There’s not a ton of perks that directly buff this build, so we are taking some stuff that will help us out in other ways. We’re likely going to be using TTD quite a bit, so we’ve looked to increase that whenever we can.

Tier 3

Fearless Leader Build

This build is going to go the complete opposite of the Lone Wolf style of build because we’re looking for our companions to do all the work! We’ll be focusing mostly on Leadership skills and things that will help our companions succeed in battle.

Melee Build

If you want to bludgeon people into submission then this might be the build for you! We’re focusing on one handed melee in this build, so you should be able to move around and quickly beat your enemies with whatever instrument you happen to have. you’re able to switch this to a two handed melee build with some minor adjustments. You will want to take advantage of your companions in this build, so we’re going to pick up some perks that help them out.

Attributes

If you want to go two handed melee instead, take Temperament instead of Dexterity and change your Aptitude to Bureaucrat or Factory Worker.

The Big Iron Build

This build was created byAbsoluteMint on Reddit! I’d go check that link out if you want to learn more, the author wrote some backstory on the character. This build is focused on upgrading your Tactical Time Dilation ability and being proficient with ranged weaponry. You would ideally prioritize using a Handgun to get the most out of your attributes.
