Robloxreached an all-time high of 202 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs) during April 2021. This estimation comes from Luke Shadwell atRTrack,an unofficial but reputable entity apart from theRobloxcompany.

TheRobloxplatform has benefited from an upward trajectory since Dec. 2019. The company ended the year at 113 million MAUs, believed to have benefited from the COVID-19 pandemic as children were forced indoors flocking to online video games for social interaction. At the end of 2020,Robloxreached 191 million MAUs.

But in March 2021,Robloxsaw its first steady drop. Despitegoing public on the U.S. stock marketandpartnering with Hasbroon Nerf andMonopoly, this decline raised questions concerning the platform’s sustainability. Shadwell believed the drop was expected, chalking the 7 million drop to a short term loss effected by loosening pandemic restrictions. But Shadwell also said that, “long term the prospects for Roblox to grow even further than 200 Million monthly active users seem bright.”
