After a delay to the open beta, EA and DICE’s First Person Shooter, Battlefield 2042, will finally be unveiled to the public. This highly anticipated open beta will simultaneously launch acrossPlayStation, Xbox, and PConOctober 6 and run through October 9, but startingOctober 5players canpreload the open beta.

Players who participate in the beta will have access toConquest mode, which will feature new tweaks.EA answered fan questionsin a piece where they broke down many features of the game. The changes to Conquest mode revealed a shift in focus from flag chasing from sector to sector. Players instead will establish a foothold in each sector and will only move forward once that entire sector has fallen.
Also available in the beta is an intensenew map named Orbital, where players willbattle in massive storms among a giant launching rocket.
DICE announced a five-week delay for the game’s release date earlier this month, citing the desire to create the best experience for players. The wait won’t be too excruciating for players who cannot enjoy the beta; Battlefield 2042 will officially launch onNovember 19, 2021, and isavailable now for pre-order onPlayStation,Xbox, andPCplatforms.
