Where to get obsidian in Valheim
To get obsidian inValheim, you will need to head deep into the mountain biome; around the highest parts of the biome you’re able to find obsidian mounds, but to mine the obsidian you will need to make an iron pickaxe.
Here is what you need to make an iron pickaxe inValheim.
You can craft an iron pickaxe with the materials listed above inside a level two forge. However, to get the iron you need, you will need to head into the swamp biome and mine muddy mounds inside sunken crypts that require a swamp key to open.

After that, you will be able to mine obsidian, but before heading into the mountains, you will need to have some protection against freezing, as you will die without it. We suggest making frost protection mead as it’s your best way to get in the biome without warm clothes like wolf armor.
