Let’s be honest: deciding on just one life path is pretty difficult with all that’s open to explore in Night City. With three different life paths in total, no one person’s Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough will look the same.
How to change your character
You will most likely change your character in Cyberpunk 2077 multiple times, and it’s easy to switch back and forth. To change your character, do not press Continue when first launching the game. Instead, choose Load Game. This will bring up a list of saves across all of the characters you’ve created.
But if you’re already in the game, don’t worry. Even I get the urge to switch up my life path while playing. To change your character in Cyberpunk 2077 while in the game, just launch the Pause Menu.

To launch the Pause Menu while in game, press these buttons:
In the Pause Menu, press Load Save and choose your character from there. Make sure to Quicksave before changing your character! Or, press Save Game to create a brand new file. It’s easy to accidentally lose progress when changing characters back and forth. The last thing you’d want to do is lose all your hard-earned progress if you forget to save in Cyberpunk.
While completely optional, you also might want to create multiple saves across different characters, just to keep better track of your progress in each life path.
