Most materials come in various tiers; the majority of them come in three tiers, that increase in rarity as you get to the next tier. As yourself and the World Level increase, the higher the drop rate to get the following materials' tiers. However, all tiers are beneficial to have plenty of!
Where to get Dead Ley Line Branch
To get Dead Ley Line Branches in Genshin Impact, you must kill Abyss Mages, which are located all over the world of Teyvat. Dead Ley Line Branches are the first tier in the material progression, so the Abyss Mages have to be under Lvl 40 to drop them. Though if the enemies are over Lvl 40, this just hastens the ability to acquire the next tiers.
There are three different types of Abyss Mages,Hydro,Pyro, andCryo. Each one, upon fighting, will shield themselves with the element they use. This means the quickest way to dispatch these is to use the opposing element or inflicting multipleElemental Reactionsquickly to deplete their shield, making them vulnerable.
The best location to farm Abyss Mages is actually in theLiyueregion.Mondstadtdoes have a fair number of them, but they are more scattered. When in Liyue, they need to encircle places on the map, making them much easier to find and kill then move on.
Fast-travel toMt Hulao, and slightly to the east should be the first Abyss Mage, from there; you really want to do a semi-circle, ending up directly west ofWangshu Innand north of theCuijue Slope. We’ll show off what we mean with a picture below.
The other area is starting from theQingxu Pool, located in the most southern region ofLiyue.The nearest waypoint is the most southern waypoint at the bottom ofLiyue. From this waypoint, head northwest until you’re at theQingxu Pool,and there should be an Abyss Mage for you to fight. From there, you want to head north until you get to reachLingju Passand fight the Abyss Mage here. Then head directly east, killing two more Mages, then south. Basically, you are making a square. Dead Ley Line materials are used frequently in Weapon Ascension levels, but the second tier, the Dead Ley Line Leaves, are used to create thePortable Waypoint, which you need a single one to create one. However, the Portable Waypoint is used up if used, so you need multiple of the materials needed to keep crafting them when needed.
